Honduras on the Fly is proud to book its guests at Mango Creek Lodge on Roatan. Mango Creek is Honduras’ only fly fishing eco-lodge and is located on the quiet side of the island in historic Port Royal bay. The lodge sits on 22 acres overlooking the bay and runs on solar and wind generated power, which insures a small environmental footprint. There is also a diesel generator back up, just in case.

The lodge was originally built as a luxury retreat, but later was expanded to accommodate up to 12 people. There are four over water cabanas that will hold 2-3 guests and also three rooms in the hillside lodge that have the same capacity. Each cabana has it’s own deck with hammock for enjoying the ocean breeze. The hillside rooms have their own patio and a breathtaking view. Each building on the property is built from native hardwoods and are adorned by the carvings of Manuel Molina. Spend the afternoon talking with Manuel about his work (if you speak Spanish).

You will find that the friendly native staff reflects the lodge’s welcoming family atmosphere. Getting to know the staff is part of the unique experience that Mango Creek offers. The lodge’s waterside restaurant serves as the gathering place for all and is where Miss Winnie’s delicious meals of lobster tails, coconut shrimp, and wahoo are served. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried her passion fruit pie!

Since Mango Creek creates all of it’s own power, the lodge is not subject to the frequent power outages that other resorts on the west side of the island are prone to.
